Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. Alongside his role as the lead actor of The Killing as well as his appearance in two other internationally popular Danish dramas, Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also was in the episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). He played the role of Russia's president on the American television show House of Cards. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award for his role as the Russian president in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish and German. He also speaks various accents. He has stated that he and his brother first learned English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
